for months and they are moving just down the street. live in northwest. wusa9. >> thank you. we will check back in with you shortly. its been an active night for police. around 9:30 police found a man in the middle of cade street. he had opinion shot and killed. we don't know his identity just yet. we know that this is the district's first homicide of the year. few hours later in southeast a man was found in a car with a gun shot wound to his head. he was taken to the hospital. both of those shootings come after last night's double shooting outside eastern high school in northeast. two teenage girls were shot. the good news is they are both expected to be okay. baltimore police officer william porter may not have to testify at the trial of another officer charged in the freddie case a judge ruled porter would have to take the stand but yesterday an appeals court

issued an order temporarily blocking that judge's ruling. the court wants to hear on whether forcing porter to testify violates his fifth amendment right to not incriminate himself. porter was the first of six to go on trial in gray's death. that trial ended in a hung jury. he faces a new trial later this year. a former police officer has been sentenced to five-years in prison for shoving the barrel of a loaded gun into a man's mouth. the officer was caught on camera pointing the gun at william cunningham. he confronted cunningham about parking illegally in front of a home a home cunningham owned. we are now just the a little more than 24 hours away from kickoff. the redskins wild card playoff game against the packers. right about now a number of the skins former season ticket holders say they regret giving up the tickets. brian bender family has season

making news this morning. the most wanted drug lord in the world is back in a jail cell. he was recaptured in mexico yesterday. nearly six months after he escaped from prison for the second time. >> reporter: mexican authorities finally got him back in their grass many. he was arrested friday. mexican marines were met with a fire fight that ended with five of his men dead. marines took guns, a rocket propelled grenade watcher. law enforcement sorts say that the united states provided the key tip. the united states and mexico have been looking for el chapo since his prison break last july. the brazen drug trafficker slipped out through a hole and

my head several times and said he didn't owe me any apology, that i owed him one? it's unreal. >> a judge sentenced him to five-years in prison. fairfax county man who plead guilty to spraying semen on women was sentenced to 18 months. michael edwards is still a freeman. during the sentencing he immediately appealed this case. the judge allowed him to continue his bond and set him free. he has pleaded guilty to similar charges in maryland. police are investigating him for a similar incident in centerville. former defense secretary went before the house committee investigating the 2012 attacks in benghazi. it was the first time for him to testify before the panel. in 2013 he said that distance and the lack of warning prevented a more immediate response to the attack. this while 2300 more pages have

week. there will be an empty seat in the first lady's gift box as a reminder of those who were lost to gun violence. a man is banned from the white house after the secret service said he plotted to kidnap the first family dog. on wednesday investigators found him in a hotel about a mile from the white house. he is now charged for having funs, a machete, billy club and ammunition. . he was put under a high intensive supervision program for the time being. a proposal to raise speeding tickets to one thousand dollars is raising eyebrows. an official from the city's transportation department testified before city council yesterday defending the idea. it is part of the plan to end traffic related deaths by 2024. councilmember is not convinced

thousands of petitions demanding the child welfare service return the five children to their parents. they were taken after reports they were disciplined by their parents. it's illegal in norway to physically punish a child. >> we consider this abuse against the rights of families. the alleged accusations have not been proven. we are protesting for the children to go back to the family. >> the cps over there is in the process of adopting out the five children. parents will go to the country's tsunami premium -- supreme court to try to stop that from happening. all week long we have asked to hear about your love for the red skins and the fire and e ms got in on the act here for us. it posted these pictures on twitter one of the fire engines on call during every redskins game at fedex field complete with the redskins logo.
